  1. Live-streaming of 2020 Williams County Jr. Fair Livestock Shows

    The Livestock shows will be live-streamed with the YouTube links posted below. These links will also be shared on the Williams County Fair and Williams County 4-H Facebook pages. We are seeking to raise at least $3,500 to help cover the cost of the live-streaming of the shows. If you would like to donate, or know of a business or individual who would like to help, please send all contributions to the Williams County Ag. Society at 619 East Main Street Montpelier, OH 43543.
  2. Share your Talent in the 2020 Barnyard Friends Drawing Contest

    Williams County youth in Kindergarten through Second Grade for the 2020-21 school year are invited to share their talent in the 2020 Barnyard Friends Drawing Contest, sponsored by Ohio State University Extension Williams County and the Williams County Fair.

    Drawings must be hand-drawn on an 8.5 x 11” sheet of paper and be farming-related. Be sure to include name, school, and grade on the back of the artwork. Participants may use paints, markers, crayons, or color pencils. Only one entry per student please.

  3. 2020 Williams County Jr. Fair Schedule and Update

    The 2020 Williams County Junior Far will take place September 12-17. Weigh-in day will be on Friday, September 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Jr. Fair Livestock Sale will take place on Thursday, September 17 at 5:00 p.m.

  4. Williams County Office of Ohio State University Extension Will Reopen with Limited Hours by Appointment Only

    BRYAN, Ohio (July 2, 2020) - The Williams County office of OSU Extension will be reopening on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 with limited hours by appointment only.

  5. Ohio Department of Agriculture Partners with OSU Extension to Provide Online Pesticide Recertification Opportunities

    REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (June 29, 2020) – During the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA), is partnering with the Ohio State University Extension Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) to temporarily provide online recertification for pesticide applicators and fertilizer certificate holders whose licenses expired in spring of 2020. The online recertification will be available Monday, July 6. For commercial applicators, it will be available August 10.

  6. Pesticide and Fertilizer Licensing COVID-19 Updates

    With the signing of House Bill 197, Ohio’s COVID-19 emergency response legislation, the March 31, 2020 deadline for private pesticide applicators (farmers) and the May 31, 2020 deadline for agricultural fertilizer certificate holders to renew their license and get training has been extended. The deadline is now 90 days after the state of emergency Executive Order ends or December 1, 2020, whichever comes first.All in-person OSUE events are cancelled or postponed through at least May 15. We will continue to update you as meetings are scheduled.

  7. Office Closed to Public Starting March 18 at 4:30 p.m.

    Governor DeWine recently issued a state of emergency and implemented a variety of strategies to reduce the spread of the disease. In order to do our part in reducing risk to our employees or clientele, we have implemented a teleworking plan. OSU Extension offices will be closed beginning at 4:30 pm Wednesday, March 18, 2020 to the public until further notice.

  8. Fertilizer and Pesticide Re-certification Meeting on March 16 is Cancelled

    UPDATE - As of 3/16/2020 the Fertilizer and Pesticide Re-certification class is cancelled.

    Our 2020 Fertilizer and Pesticide Re-certification class will be Monday, March 16 at the Williams County East Annex Building at 1425 East High Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506. Pre-registration is required at 419-636-5608.

    Fertilizer (Category 15) re-certification will be from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. for $10.

    Pesticide (CORE, Category 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) re-certification will be from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. for $30.

  9. Stoy Farms to Host Women in Agriculture Dinner

    OSU and Purdue Extension will host a Women in Agriculture dinner on Thursday, March 12, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Stoy Farms (6517 S 400 W, Ashley, IN 46705).

    Come join area women for an evening of learning and networking. Program participants will learn about farm stress management, meal planning, and Annie’s Project, an educational series designed to empower farm and ranch women.
